Hi Diana! Thank you so much for taking the time to speak with us today! Firstly, please introduce yourself to the Women of Silicon Roundabout community!
I am Diana Kennedy, Group CTO at Bupa and mother of three teenage children.
What are you looking forward to at Women of Silicon Roundabout?
I cannot wait to get my annual fix of energy and vibe from the awesome speakers and incredible women attending the event, each with their own story, but each with such great passion for technology to change the world.
When you think about our theme for 2023, The New Frontier, what excites you about the future in tech, business and/or leadership?
I LOVE the theme! It is such an amazing time to be a technologist, with such incredible technologies now at our fingertips. We all have a role to play to inspire the younger generation into growing their careers in technology and being part of the new frontier!
What would you say to your younger self about pursuing a career in tech and the future of women in tech?
Step right in and don’t be shy! Seek out people who inspire you, that share your passion and that have a mission and purpose aligned with yours – then the role will come. Don’t look for the job description, but seek out the opportunity.
What do you see as the biggest challenge currently facing women in technology?
Adaptation. Technologies are changing so fast, and roles will exist tomorrow that haven’t even been imagined today – women particularly need to make time for their own learning and personal development. Lifelong learning is critical in today’s world.
Women of Silicon Roundabout is built on community; what advice would you give to our attendees on building your network and furthering your presence?
Talk to everyone! Network, network, network and follow up with them afterwards – you will learn so much ,and give so much back. The community is more than just this event, it is for the whole year.
