Xiuli Chen is an applied scientist at Yelp, where she is focused on audience targeting optimisation and ad syndication. Prior to Yelp, Xiuli worked as a research scientist at the Finnish Center for AI Helsinki and University of Birmingham after receiving her PhD from the school of computer science at the University of Birmingham in the U.K. Her research interests include human computer interaction, human-AI collaboration, and deep reinforcement learning.

Achieving this requires better understanding of factors that influence human decision making, such as context, available actions, and objectives. This session will explore and discuss machine learning models that take human decision making into consideration, and why they could have a bright future in assisting us with some of our daily decisions.
