We make countless decisions on a daily basis, from choosing between the new
Mexican restaurant in town or your go-to Chinese restaurant around the corner, to big career decisions such as moving onto a tech manager role or staying as a senior engineer. Fortunately, we’re living in a time where we’re able to leverage technology to assist us in making better, more informed decisions.

Achieving this requires better understanding of factors that influence human decision making, such as context, available actions, and objectives. This session will explore and discuss machine learning models that take human decision making into consideration, and why they could have a bright future in assisting us with some of our daily decisions.

Session Key Takeaways:

  • How to formulate the problem when designing machine learning models to assist
    human decision making
  • How to work with human’s seemingly biassed decisions, rather than against them
  • How to model human decision making as more than just big data
