Speaker Bio
My fascination for technology was first sparked when I started working in the IT consulting and services industry straight out of university, working with customers to solve complex business problems. The excitement from clients about what technology could achieve was infectious. It became obvious to me that I wanted to be part of a company where I could drive technology and bring about change. To enhance my change management experience and business acumen, I enrolled for an MBA. I was quickly identified by BP and offered a management role within IT services.
After several moves, I was invited to apply for an extremely competitive role as Head of the Executive Office for the Group CIO. After securing the position, I primed the C-suite for strategy meetings and worked closely with the press office, Board and Risk Committees.
As Global Digital and IT Director of Upstream Digital, my last role at BP, I led the strategy, innovation, roadmap and implementation of over 10 digital platforms, achieving billions in revenue growth and cost optimisation. Working closely with C-suite and senior-level stakeholders, I managed 600+ people across 14 countries with different regional and regulatory challenges.
I have now started a new role at British American Tobacco as the Group Head of Information and Digital Technology Corporate.
What gives me a buzz is being ‘out of my comfort zone’ and ‘feeling intellectually challenged.’ I perform at my very best when working under pressure. As a manager, I thrive on helping people grow and develop. I believe in creating an inclusive environment that empowers people.
