Isabel Walker
Isabel began her career as a journalist and (later) editor, specialising in medicine, health, and science. Since 2005 she has worked as an independent trainer and coach, with a focus on communication skills training, message development, and storytelling for business.
Isabel has helped executives from all sectors, including the tech and pharma industries, to communicate powerful messages to a variety of audiences, through media interviews, presentations, meetings, and negotiations, and to develop their unique value propositions in the workplace. She has also served as moderator for advisory boards and at press conferences.
In 1992, following a personal experience with the pregnancy complication pre-eclampsia, Isabel set up a UK-based patient advocacy group, which is now international. She co-authored, with Professor Chris Redman of Oxford University, the award-winning book, Pre-eclampsia: The Facts, followed by Understanding Pre-eclampsia.
Fun Fact: Isabel and her husband share a passion for choral singing and perform in regular concerts with a local choir. She is one of a select group of women who sing tenor rather than the traditional female parts of soprano and contralto.
