Bunmi Durowoju

Aerospace Industry and Technology Strategist

An award winning* former Microsoft Senior Business Development Manager in the corporation’s global Business Development Organization. During her tenure at the tech giant, Bunmi worked in the Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Cloud team covering strategic engagements in developed and emerging markets across industry verticals like, AgriTech, Automotive, SpaceTech and Green Energy. She established technology partnerships with commercial organizations leveraging cloud, IoT, data, AI, cognitive services and emerging technologies.

Whilst working with the Microsoft Airband Initiative, she developed a passion for “tech for good” as she drove affordable access solutions for connectivity, renewable energy and regulatory relations across EMEA. Before her business development role, Bunmi managed a UK/US Media Licensing team. They licensed media content from industry giants such as AP, Reuters, Sony and Getty on behalf of Microsoft’s business groups - Xbox, Bing and MSN.

She has a BSc in Law and Psychology, an MSc in the Management of Intellectual Property and qualified as a Lawyer who specialized in Intellectual Property protection and litigation in private practice. Prior to Microsoft she worked at the BBC as a Contracts Executive handling TV performance rights.

As a energetic and valued ex-Co-Chair of the Women@Microsoft UK Board, Bunmi helped build and led a “powerhouse” team who presided over a vibrant community of over 1000+ women in the UK chapter. A long-time advocate for digital inclusion, she founded her own “Global Future Observer” programme, where she aimed to demystify industries by encouraging the inclusion and participation of young people in events that shape their future.

Bunmi is a highly respected and exciting keynote speaker, moderator and “to camera” technology presenter. She has been a guest speaker on numerous podcasts and is described as a thought leader who can navigate difficult and complex topics with her signature candour, empathy, energy and humour. She has addressed the UN, spoken at technology conferences and participated in numerous panels at corporate events.

Bunmi excels at shaping informed perspectives on a wide range of topics. Her talks have covered emerging markets, bias in AI, programmable human beings, the future of technology, digital inclusion, issues affecting women (health, parenting, empowerment, life stages), women in technology and leadership.
