Andreea Grigore

Vice President (Senior Engineer II) , BlackRock

Andreea is a Vice President (Senior Engineer II) in Aladdin Wealth Tech (AWT) at BlackRock. She leads a front-end team that focuses on helping financial advisors and their clients understand portfolios through visualizations of Aladdin analytics.

Her professional journey began 7 years ago at BlackRock when she joined as a graduate analyst. Since then, she has taken on many roles in both backend and frontend development. Within her current team, Andreea has progressed from a graduate analyst to a core individual contributor, and later to a team and senior development lead. Her role blends core managerial competencies: technical, project, and people management, each with its own challenges, responsibilities, and accomplishments. She is passionate about building high-quality software and helping others grow in their careers.

In addition to her professional responsibilities, Andreea is deeply passionate about philanthropy. She leads the philanthropy engineering group in London, focusing on building charity partnerships and enabling BlackRock employees to give back to society.

Driven by her passion to foster improvement and uplift those around her, Andreea leads the mentorship program within the “Women in Tech” network. She is dedicated to facilitating career growth and development for women in technology at BlackRock. Beyond this, Andreea actively mentors numerous colleagues, sharing her experiences and providing advice to help them in their careers and beyond.

Andreea is a globetrotter at heart, traveling whenever the chance arises and planning every trip to the last detail. She loves getting to know the cultures (especially food cultures) of the places she visits. Any free time when she is not traveling and the weather allows it, she spends in her small but lively garden, going full gardener mode: planting, cleaning, designing the garden, and enjoying her fruit and vegetable harvest
