Q&A w/ Sarah Palmer, Director of Business Development - EMEA @ PowerSpeaking Inc.
Firstly, please introduce yourself and tell us a little bit more about your role and company!
Hello, I’m Sarah, and I’m the Director of Business Development for EMEA at PowerSpeaking, Inc. We teach and coach corporate teams to become clear, powerful presenters and communicators so they have a greater impact on their organisations and their careers. I also work closely with select clients in creating communication learning journeys tailored to their teams.
In addition to heading up Business Development, I conduct workshops, programme previews, webinars, and 1:1 coaching.
What are you looking forward to at Women of Silicon Roundabout?
It’s always such an inspiration to meet and talk with the talented speakers and participants at the Roundabouts. I look forward to learning more about technology and the challenges and opportunities they all discuss. And of course, I’m excited to share our expertise with them.
Why is Women of Silicon Roundabout such an important event for PowerSpeaking to be a part of?
Well, as a global woman-owned business based in Silicon Valley, we have a natural affinity for women in technology! But more than that, we know firsthand that no matter someone’s talent and expertise in a STEM career, unless they can find and use their voice with confidence and skill, they’re not likely to realize their full potential. So, we are honored to offer our expertise in presentation and communication skills in support of these truly amazing women driving technology forward.
What can attendees expect from the Popcorn Sessions?
They can expect highly focused, informative sessions on a variety of communication topics—from managing Q&A sessions to using stories effectively in a technical talk. Each session is only 15 minutes, which allows me to share the most high-impact best practices on the topic.
When you think about our theme for 2024, Digital X Human, what excites your company about the future in tech, business and/or leadership?
What we know at PowerSpeaking is that the most effective communication starts with connection—human connection. And isn’t that at the heart of this year’s WOSR conference theme? We’re most excited about industry experts and leaders who are driving future technologies with human connection and welfare top of mind.
Finally, why should attendees come to visit your stand at Women of Silicon Roundabout?
Speaking of human connection, attendees can have a 1:1 conversation with us to learn more about the impact communication training can have on their teams to take them to the next level. Bring us your challenges - we love to find practical solutions to get your team noticed!
Register for your place to join Sarah for PowerSpeaking's Popcorn Sessions at their stand at Women of Silicon Roundabout on 27 - 28 November now!
