Q&A w/ Nina Möger, Transformation Director @ Kraken
Thanks so much for taking the time to speak with us, Nina! Firstly, please introduce yourself and tell us a little bit more about your role and company!
Thank you for having me! I’m thrilled to work for Kraken, the most exciting climate tech company in Europe, hands down. Kraken is building the operating system for utilities, and right now, we’re licensed to serve over 60 million households across nine countries! Our tech is shaking up the energy game, enabling demand-side flexibility and green tariffs at scale, making the green transition more affordable for everyone. As Transformation Director, I get to work with energy companies to ensure we’re delivering the right technology to help them scale and provide radically good customer service. It’s all about transforming the industry for a greener future.
What are you looking forward to at Women of Silicon Roundabout?
I’m buzzing about connecting with an amazing community of women who are shaping the future of tech and leadership. Women of Silicon Roundabout is where bold ideas collide, and I can’t wait to swap stories and celebrate how women are crushing it in high impact industries. I’m especially looking forward to hearing real-world stories of how women are not just leading, but changing the game— through tech innovation, driving sustainability, and breaking barriers in leadership.
Why is Women of Silicon Roundabout such an important event for Kraken to be a part of?
Kraken is all about one thing—accelerating the green transition. We’re in the GO era of climate action, and let’s be real, no one is better at getting things done than women! Women of Silicon Roundabout brings together the folks tackling some crazy hard problems, which is exactly what Kraken is about. Our tech is making the green transition faster, cheaper, and more accessible. Being part of this event lets us tap into the brilliant minds who can help push that mission even further.
What can attendees expect from your session?
Get ready for an energy-packed session—literally! We’re diving headfirst into how technology is transforming the energy industry and how consumers, like all of us, can be absolute game-changers in the green revolution. Expect it to be punchy, fun, and unapologetically real. You’ll see how tech is already empowering people to use energy in smarter, more sustainable ways. If you’re feeling climate despair, this session will energize you with optimism and practical ways tech can contribute to making change happen.
When you think about our theme for 2024, Digital X Human, what excites your company about the future in tech, business, and/or leadership?
The sweet spot of transformation happens where digital meets human. At Kraken, we’re building tech that’s not just about making systems more efficient; it’s about empowering people to take control of their energy use—helping them and the planet at the same time. What gets me really excited? It’s making sure our customers win. Take onshore wind, for example—no one wants turbines in their backyard, right? But use Kraken's software to offer them cheaper electricity when the wind blows close by, and suddenly, 80% of people say, “Sure, put it right next to my house!” That’s the future—using tech to solve big problems like climate change while making it personal, community-driven, and a win-win for everyone.
Finally, why should attendees come to visit your stand at Women of Silicon Roundabout?
If you’re tired of working on software that just optimizes for clicks and screen time, come and see us at Kraken. We’re turning tech into real-world climate solutions, and the energy sector is moving FAST—but not fast enough. If you want to get hands-on with solving one of the biggest challenges of our time—fighting climate change—then Kraken’s the place to be. Plus, we’ve got some pretty cool pink plushies you won’t want to miss. Trust me, you’ll want to get your hands on them!
